Portraits
Welcome to my Pencil Portraits.
I love working on Portraits. It is always an honour when I’m chosen to produce a work of art of someone special. I mainly work from photographs so am able to undertake commissions from anywhere in the UK or overseas. I work in Graphite, Charcoal or a mixture of the two and if desired, sepia can be added to provide a splash of colour. I always like to learn more about the person you wish to capture so I can reflect some of their personality into their portrait.
If your curious about how this works and would like to learn more, please click the ‘Commission’ button below which will take you to some additional links. Here I hope to answer most of the common questions I get asked, however, I always welcome any further queries and am available for a no obligation chat if you wish to discuss your requirements in more detail.
Please feel free to peruse some examples of my work from the link below and bear in mind that my ultimate goal is to produce an artwork for you that you will cherish for years to come.

Animals
Being an animal lover, especially dogs, I always love drawing pets. I grew up with several dogs, a Golden Labrador, a Corgi and a Retriever so I have a sense how each breed is different and exhibits their own mannerisms and traits. Being able to capture your best friend in a Pencil Portrait is certainly a wonderful way to celebrate them and brings me so much pleasure to help you achieve this.
There are many options you can choose when contemplating an animal portrait. For instance, some people prefer not to have a background while others like some indication of a location or situation. Multiple poses are possible, as you see opposite, and will depend on the size and space you have available. I’m here to help with these choices and guide you via a collaborative process to help you realise your vision so whatever type of pet you have or if you just like animal portraits, please get in touch to have a chat.
My goal is to provide you with a life-like representation that captures the personality of your pet or chosen animal, so I aim to understand their character in the best way I can.
